Spectacle : ANJELA – Cie Marguerite
If you like life stories and the gentle sound of the clarinet...
Based on the life of the poet Anjela Duval and her many poems written in Breton, ANJELA is a hybrid show that oscillates between the poet's voice, the documentary voice and the musical voice.
ANJELA takes the form of a musical reading, conducted rhythmically by an actress, a reader of Breton and a musician/sound technician, who come together to create a dynamic, a dramaturgy and a body of work around the poetess from Trégor and her poems.
Based on an initial text written as part of an investigation into the translations of her poems, the piece explores the poet?s literary, cultural and geographical territory, drawing the audience into a collection of images and sounds in Vieux-Marché and around her farm. The audience rediscovers the subtleties and beauty of her Breton poems, along with their translations.
Part reading of the poems in Breton and French, part sensitive documentary on the translations and Anjela?s life, the show is accompanied by a clarinet and a sound and visual composition.
