Festival Jazz er Maez

📅
Dates
From 2 July 2026 to 5 July 2026
In 33 days

For its fourth edition, and to make sure that no one is forgotten, ?Jazz er Maez? reaches out to the residents and staff of the village?s Ehpad, and then to the heart of the public school. And like last year, the festival opens on Thursday, July 2 with an evening lecture on jazz! This is followed by two concerts each evening, on July 3? 4 and 5, featuring swing, contemporary jazz and, of course, surprises?

Thursday, July 2, 6pm - Maison de la Mer

Conference - 10?

This evening, dedicated to the music that originated in the Mississippi Delta in Louisiana, will take a closer look at the history of jazz. Whether through images or musical extracts, the session will focus on an art form born of the blues over 100 years ago. Some of the greatest names in the history of this popular music are still with us today. But beyond this history and its many chapels, we need to consider the context in which jazz was born and developed? A history that is still being written, thanks to today?s artists who perpetuate the transmission of standards and, for some, continue to make this music a field of creativity!

Friday, July 3, 8pm - Square du Châtelet

- Lule trio

LULE is a meeting of voice, guitar and double bass around jazz standards. Drawing on a repertoire chosen from the great Broadway era, ranging from swing to intimate atmospheres, Lule revisits the great jazz themes, offering a unique moment based on interpretation and improvisation. A musical delight to be experienced intensely and shared in a dream setting?

Priscilla Popiolek: Guitarist

Lolita Wiener Durupt: Singer / Trumpeter

Kevin Perros: Double bass

- Kannibal Swing Quartet

A lively quartet that has mastered a repertoire of swings, not-so-young French songs and English-style standards, all performed with energy, freshness and freedom.

These four have been practicing together for some time, and beyond the music, there's a real sense of complicity, an undeniable stage presence and a real pleasure in playing for the audience.

Raphaëlle Garnier: vocals and trumpet

Jean-Marc Le Coq: chromatic accordion

Gérard Le Louët: gypsy guitar

Claudius Dupont: double bass

Saturday, July 4, 8pm - Maison de la Mer (Port de la Houle Causseul)

- BLÅ TIME

Building on the success of their recent debut album (Solsystemer), this Franco-Danish trio offers an original musical approach somewhat reminiscent of the Swedish band E.S.T.. Pianist Yann Lorang's untempered keyboard and drummer Julien Defontaine's rich rhythmic interplay create a particularly lively backdrop for singer and poet Sari Arent. When Scandinavian fogs meet the thermal breezes of our coasts?

Yann Lorang, Keyboards and composition

Sari Arent, Vocals

Julien Defontaine, Percussion

- Nocuts

Nocuts is a contemporary jazz group with a sensitive, contrasting style. Between chiselled compositions and improvisational spaces, the group?s music explores moving soundscapes, nourished by travel, listening and freedom. A music rich in light and movement, allowing intensity to rise and emotions to unfold like a breath from a far-off horizon.

Guillaume Burkhardt, double bass

Gaëlle Coquempot, piano and composition

Julien Defontaine, drums

Olivier Roch, clarinet, bass clarinet and composition

Sunday July 5, 8pm - SNCF Gardens (1 rue de Dinan)

- Cominho do sol

The Caminho Do Sol (Chemin du Soleil) quartet rearranges and pays tribute to Brazilian artists whose musical crossbreeding is the very essence of their creativity.

This blend of jazz, funk and Brazilian music leads straight into a sun-drenched, danceable universe! With Caminho Do Sol, you'll be in for a tropical summer on the Jazz er Maez stage!

Stéphanie Boucher: Vocals

Marcus Camus: Drums

Guillaume Julien: Guitar

- Achille Ouattara

From an early age, Achille Ouattara developed a strong interest in afro-jazz, a musical technique that has left its mark on the musical landscape of his country, Burkina Faso. One of the most renowned bassists on the African continent, Achille Ouattara, who has just released his second album, plays with his group Afrikän Protokol. A true virtuoso, Achille Ouattara knows how to raise the bewitching fever of a twirling bass?
