Visite Chapelle Sainte-Suzanne
The Sixtine Chapel of Central Brittany, it was built in the 16th century on the remains of a small château belonging to the Rohan family. It is remarkable for its wainscoting motifs and 18th-century paintings. A wrought-iron grille in one of the wings of the main portal allowed lepers to attend mass without entering the building. The interior features altarpieces from the 17th and 18th centuries, a bas-relief from the church?s former rood screen and a ship with oars donated by the Launay-Mûr family. Outside, the oak trees, planted around 1700, were immortalized by the painter Jean-Baptiste Corot.
From July 12 to July 31 and August 2 to 21, Sunday afternoons to Fridays, guided tours from 10.30am to 12.30pm and from 2.30pm to 6.30pm. Outside guided tour periods, the chapel is open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Free admission.
