1852, a village in Provence where all the men have been rounded up. Their crime? Having taken up arms to defend the Republic following Louis Napoléon Bonaparte?s coup d?état.
The women were left alone in the village to look after the children, the animals and the fields. They make an oath to each other. Time passes, swallowing them up in their tasks, with their appetite for life nestling inside them.
One day, a man arrives.
Between resistance, sisterhood, desire and a hymn to nature, this touching and essential play sheds a poetic light on the formidable human capacity to repair wounds and honor life.
