Opéra "Robinson Crusoé"
Opera by Daniel Defoe and Opéra de Rennes (creation December 2025)
From age 10 - Out of doors
Daniel Defoe's famous story of Robinson Crusoe, Jacques Offenbach's irresistible talent, Laurent Pelly's first production at Opéra de Rennes and a particularly promising cast... An exceptional event to close the season. While Offenbach's operettas are a regular fixture at opera houses, his more serious works are rarely performed, with the exception of Les Contes d'Hoffmann. Yet the music of "Robinson Crusoe" reveals treasures of imagination and color, brought to life by the Orchestre National de Bretagne and conductor Guillaume Tourniaire, one of the greatest specialists in French music. And who better than Laurent Pelly to direct this little-known score, striking a subtle balance between laughter and poetry, while questioning our relationship with the unknown and the foreign.
Opera sung and surtitled in French.
8pm performance at Opéra de Rennes
Return trip by bus included: meet at 6pm at Quai des Rêves.
