Les Mardis de la Fontaine : Lato Lontano
Lato Lontano
Reflecting a rich family tradition from southern Italy, Lato Lontano renews Mediterranean music with Armorican touches. From Sicily to Brittany, this sparkling combo propels you into the energy of the ball.
The sound of the mandolin, the accordion and the songs carry you away on cheerful melodies; polkas, mazurkas and waltzes are typical of the peninsula, tarantellas and pizzicas can also be danced in a circus-like circle, while "Madonna delle Grazie" propels you into a whirlwind, a frenzied farandole.
part 1: Introduction to tarantella
Playful and mischievous, tarantella is also practiced in couples, with aspects of courtship. It's a twirling, even intoxicating dance, which strives to chase away all ills. Christophe Perraudeau offers you an initiation. For all levels, you'll learn the basic steps and variations, how to hold the arms and the body. Practice and play will take place individually, then as a couple.
As part of the Quartiers d'été program, the association La Tanière de la Louve is organizing an event entitled Les Mardis de la Fontaine.
