Inspiration Art déco à Lannion

Between the wars, Lannion underwent a transformation, adopting the codes of Art Deco, an artistic movement born in the early 20th century and widely disseminated in the 1920s. Stemming from the 1925 International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris, this modern style made its mark with geometric lines and stylized decorations. In Brittany, Art Deco found a particular echo with the Seiz Breur group.

These artists and craftsmen sought to modernize Breton design by drawing on ancient popular arts, which they reinterpreted in architecture and the decorative arts.

Their ambition: to embellish everyday life without denying their references.
