Sonerien Du is a major contemporary Breton music group, founded in 1971 in Finistère. An essential reference on the fest-noz scene, they have developed a powerful style that blends tradition and modernity, based on typical Breton instrumentation: bombarde, biniou, accordion, guitar, bass, drums and Breton vocals. The group is renowned for its dynamic arrangements, traditional dance rhythms (andro, hanter-dro, gavotte, plinn?) and its ability to bridge the gap between Breton popular culture and the current scene.

To recapture the power and energy of the binious and bombardes that bit him on the ear, Gregailh summons electronics and wild lutherie: the hurdy-gurdy is augmented with effects and distortions, the drum with low strings and metals. The duo's new music stands at the experimental crossroads of ballroom and underground music.
