Discover "Street Art" at the Terrasse de l'Abbaye
Philippe Troussel exhibition
Discover Philippe Troussel's tarpaulins expressing hip hop, human and street art. They are closely linked and represent contemporary urban culture. Encounters and fusions in the same space and spirit, with a certain correspondence.
Philippe Troussel has been passionate about photography since childhood, and was introduced to film development by his father. He took his first photos with a Semflex film camera. During his professional life, he worked in the field of research, notably on X-ray film and its medical and space applications. He devotes himself to his passion, photography, which leads him to discover new fields, such as urban dance, or ephemeral subjects to which he gives a memory: boat cemeteries, street art, urbex, etc., which he tracks down like a collector of snapshots, giving a memory to the ephemeral. He often returns to the same sites, objects or elements, playing with light as a key element in successful photography. His subjects are often imbued with humor and emotion, a blend of color and movement. Interested in working in photographic series, he recently organized urban shootings with dancer models (hip hop, classical and modern dance?), sometimes with several photographers.
The urban environment allows for fusion and connivance. For him, photography is a complete activity, combining the solitude of the shoot with the exchange between photographer and photographed. Bringing people closer to their environment is an often-imposed quest. Always on the lookout for novelties, exchanges and furthering his knowledge, he takes part in competitions (prize in the photo competition organized as part of the Afric?A Massy festival in Massy, federation competition at national level...). He is a member of the Association de PC Val de bièvres. He divides his time between life in Paris and his more solitary jaguine life.
