Exposition : Jean-Marie Brault
Jean-Marie Brault
Jean-Marie Brault began painting in 2015.
After studying the masters of Impressionism (Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, Berthe Morisot), he gave way to the confrontation between the painter and the landscape. Like them, he seeks a palpable emotional accuracy within the painting, as well as harmonies of color. He also questions values and composition, which form the whole.
In November 2015, he moved to Antwerp. For three years, he attended the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Inspired by the cathedral, Antwerp?s city center becomes his playground, where he treats architecture, perspective and the play of light.
Jean-Marie Brault, artist
Back in Brittany in 2019, he returns to the landscape. Landscape remains a key element in his painting and an inexhaustible source of inspiration. However, other inspirations are changing his focus, such as interior compositions, portraits and still lifes. The composition gradually becomes a living element of the painting.
Jean-Marie Brault pursues his research and continues to try to understand his surroundings.
