Natural Artifices ? Laurence Nicola

Living in contact with nature and sensitive to her environment, Laurence Nicola draws on it to create polymorphous works that question identity, the fragility of being and the torments of the human condition.

"This exhibition, both in the Abbaye de Léhon and in its gardens, will take a sensitive look at the environmental mutations we are experiencing. Attentive to the materials and forms produced by nature, my approach is nourished by my work in collecting materials on natural sites

Laurence Nicola uses a variety of techniques (slides, photography, installations, etc.) to reflect this relationship between plant, mineral and plastic materials. She creates landscapes of the marvellous kind. They reveal the coexistence of the natural and the artificial.
