Alain Maire is a relatively prolific and versatile amateur painter.
After retiring as a turbomachinery engineer, he turned to painting
He studied with Martha Kolodziej, a naive painter from Krakow, and with François Martin at the Beaux-Arts in Le Havre.
His favorite painters are Utrillo, De Staël and Picasso;
He paints in acrylic on large-format canvases with cheerful colors and a highly recognizable style.
Since Covid, he has successfully tried his hand at drawing with ballpoint pen on canson, colored with felt-tip pens
He lives 1/3 of the time in Plancoët, his main residence is in Le Havre, but he remains attached to Montmartre (his childhood) and Saint Cast (his childhood vacations from 1952)
