French chanson has many horizons, as do the two artists on this evening. La Maison Tellier presents its new album, imbued with love and broad folk nuances, while Louïse Papier opts for a synthetic, minimalist universe.

An enduring family affair, with their eighth album soon to be released. La Maison Tellier continues to explore the unfathomable beauty of being alive, the unbridled joy of never having failed in that fraternal promise: to make the music they love, to love the music they make. It?s all in the title, a nod to the 16Horsepower?s ultimate album: an album celebrating their love of folk music - from the Tex Mex mariachi of Calexico to the hazy ballads of Shane Mc Gowan and the burning dust of Ali Farka Touré - and their love of human beings, even when they?re up to no good.

LOUÏSE PAPIER

Louïse Papier is the minimalist project of Blanche Leblond (bassist with Clavicule and Championne). Her debut album C?est la fin is an anthology of heady melodies. She distills her lyrics, sometimes in French, sometimes in English, through lo-fi drum machines, old organs and vintage synthesizers. The result is a dreamy, dark and confidential ambience.
