"When Marguerite, the wife of respected knight Jean de Carrouges, is violently assaulted by his best friend, Jacques Le Gris, she refuses to remain silent. She has no hesitation in denouncing her assailant and defying him in an act of bravery and defiance, putting her life at risk. The ensuing showdown, a grueling duel to the death between two men who are now rivals, places the destiny of each of them in God's hands. Based on true events, the film revisits the last known judicial duel in France - also known as the "Judgment of God" - dated December 29, 1386."
