Black is beautiful de Kwame Brathwaite

While everyone is familiar with the expression "Black is beautiful", few people know who popularized it. It was an African-American photographer who, more than a slogan, created an aesthetic specific to the community. A native of Brooklynn, Kwane Brathwaite (1938-2023) founded a movement in the 1960s whose ambition was to portray an original culture that emancipated itself from the dominant one.
