Le Coasteering
Coasteering is an outdoor leisure activity that originated in Wales in the 1990s. It is an aquatic activity open to everyone, whether they are sportsmen or not. Coasteering is very popular among Anglo-Saxons.
This activity combines swimming in the sea, jumping and progression on rocks
In a landscape of cliffs, the movement is done at the foot of the cliffs for reasons of safety and respect for nature. Coasteering is therefore practiced without rope and the site is not disfigured by the installation of pitons.
The practitioner is in neoprene suit and wears a lifejacket, the wearing of a helmet is mandatory.
The coasteering allows the practitioners to survey the cliffs in a different way. Discovery of the geological particularities, analysis of the currents and the swell, approach (from a respectable distance) of the fauna, observation of the algae, unusual reading of the landscape.
Coasteering, as we wish, is an activity close to nature. Apart from the fact that it leaves the terrain untouched, the supervisors will have this duty to educate the environment.
