Terrarium de Kerdanet
The Terrarium de Kerdanet, the only one of its kind in Brittany, presents the unusual and fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians.
In a natural setting recreated in the garden, you can discover vipers, garter snakes, lizards, French frogs and around 200 terrestrial and aquatic turtles placed in open-air terrariums where their biological requirements are respected.
A large pond allows you to observe green frogs and the ballet of dragonflies.
Once you've visited the garden, you'll enter the kingdom of reptiles, far more impressive than the French fauna.
In the vivarium, you'll enter a tropical atmosphere with a temperature of around 25° to 30°. Here, you'll get up close and personal with a range of exotic species, from the tiniest garter snakes to gigantic anacondas, as well as a number of facilities adapted to royal pythons, constrictor boas, Burmese pythons and reticulated pythons. You can also safely observe the black mamba, ominous rattlesnakes, cobras, as well as a large bumping viper and our fine bamboo rattlesnakes; a diversity of lizards, such as iguanas, geckos, monitor lizards and broad-fronted crocodiles.
At the end of your visit, you?ll have the chance to get up close and personal with one of the vivarium?s hosts, in the presence of an animator who is permanently on duty in the vivarium...
To learn more about these animals, you can also book a caretaker day.
