Les Arbres Remarquables

At the bend in the road, go to the Chapel of Saint-Tugdual, where you can admire magnificent trees representing the local species: beech, oak and, very often, chestnut trees. In addition to the decorative and protective aspect against bad weather, these trees were intended for the maintenance or repair of the building. The former Counts of Marguilliers and fabricators of the 16th and 17th centuries provided for the use of trunks in their budgets. Chestnut wood is very solid and practically rot-proof. The boxwood is probably the survivor of an old alignment planted in front of the building built in 1865.
