Site de l'étang du Poulloguer

Comprising a mosaic of natural environments and old buildings, the Poulloguer site is a great place for family walks.

The lake was created in the 13th century by the monks of Bégard to power a mill. It was also used as a basin for retting flax, which was intensively grown in the Trégor region.

The mill, dating from 1701 and magnificently restored, has found a new use as a gîte d?étape.

In the adjoining garden, a theater of greenery invites contemplation of this ordinary natural setting.

Stabilization of the banks of the 2-hectare pond allows you to stroll as close as possible to the water. The little path takes you through wetlands, woods and hedged farmland, a legacy of farming activities over the centuries. Dragonflies, waterfowl and toads will be your walking companions.

Fishermen will be delighted to find carp, roach and pike. The water level varies in height from 1 m to 2.5 m, depending on the spot. The Poulloguer river, which runs through the site, is equally rich in trout and eels.

Parking du Poulloguer: access to Mon Tro Breizh, start of the 1.5 km interpretation trail and access to the fishing trail.

Nature outings and fishing events take place all year round. Full program available from the tourist office.
