Polders
Useful information
Located in the commune of Beaussais-sur-Mer, the Polders of Ploubalay and Lancieux nestle in the heart of the Bay of Lancieux.
These 70 hectares of meadows bordered by canals and protected by historic dykes are classified Natura 2000.
They are home to exceptional biodiversity, notably migratory birds.
The Floubalay circuit (9.5 km), accessible from the Ploubalay Tourist Office, invites you to explore this natural and heritage jewel.
Tips for visitors :
For a successful visit, take the GR34 and discover the polders with the tides.
A pair of binoculars is essential for observing the fauna on the mudflats.
Bring suitable footwear to enjoy the route to the full, and take time to visit the village church.
In spring and autumn, the light makes the scenery particularly spectacular.

Created as early as the 13th century by the monks of Saint-Jacut-de-la-Mer Abbey, the polders bear witness to ancestral know-how.
The Marais Neuf dyke, built in the 19th century, still resists the onslaught of the sea, even after the breach in 2020, which transformed these meadows into a fascinating semi-maritime space.
