Les landes de Locarn

A vast expanse of moorland and peat bogs in the heart of central Brittany, the departmental nature site of the Locarn moors and Corong gorges offers a magnificent variety of landscapes. From ridges to valley bottoms, the landscape alternates between moorland, peat bogs and rocky chaos, offering an unforgettable experience.

The Locarn moors form a complex of 350 ha of natural environments. Different types of moor alternate: high moorland with European gorse, low moorland with heather, wooded moorland and peat bogs.

Activities are organized by the Maison des Landes et Tourbières (located in Kergrist-Moëlou and regularly hosting nature exhibitions) to discover the diversity of plants and animals that inhabit this site.

Starting from the Quellenec parking lot, between Locarn and Saint-Nicodème, a pathway allows you to observe, understand and discover the natural heritage of this site. The path leads to the granite chaos of the Gorges du Corong. You can then retrace your steps back to the starting point.
