Les gorges du Corong
The Landes de Locarn is a striking landscape where the river mysteriously disappears beneath an immense granite chaos. As you walk up the path, you pass by these monumental boulders, piled up over time in a wild and enchanting setting.
According to an ancient Breton legend, this chaos is the work of Boudédé, the first man to live in Brittany. As he crossed the Duault forest, he emptied his pebble-filled hooves into the river, forming the strange heap we see today.
Science, on the other hand, attributes the formation of this chaos to the millennia-old erosion of the granite, infiltrated by water in its smallest cracks.
At the crossroads of imagination and geology, this site invites contemplation, between blocks of stone sculpted by time, rustling water and mysterious moors as far as the eye can see.
