Landes de Lanfains

The Landes de Lanfains are characteristic of the open landscapes of the Armorican Massif plateaux. Peaking at 327 meters, you may come across the curlew, a bird that breeds on mown moors.

Throughout the year, heather and gorse cover the land. A paradise for today's hikers, the moors were once exploited by man (as a fuel reserve, pasture and sometimes cultivated areas).

The Lanfains moors benefit from special protection and management thanks to the Natura 2000 system. The ecological interest of this site is recognized as remarkable, and activities are regulated to protect threatened or endangered plant and animal species.

The "Lande aux Courlis" hiking trail can be found on our website.
