Lac de Saint-Barthélémy

Bordered by steep, wooded banks, the lake and its surroundings are exceptional natural spaces.

The 80-hectare lake is fed by the Gouët, a first-class river classified as a migratory fish river. It boasts a high-quality fish population: white fish (bleak, roach, tench, etc.) and carnivorous fish (perch and eel), as well as numerous pike-perch and pike-perch (specimens exceeding 1 m), to the delight of anglers.

The Gouët dam, built in the late 70s, is the source of the lake. It supplies drinking water to the entire Brioche area. The water engulfed the valley and the first level of the viaduct built between 1860 and 1863 to allow passage of the railway line linking Saint-Brieuc to Brest.

You'll find all the hiking, mountain biking and trail trails along the lake in the "walks and hikes" section of our website.

Several access points and parking lots: Le Pont Noir and the village of La Méaugon
