Lac de Bosméléac
The shady shores of Lac de Bosméléac wind through the high valleys of the Oust river. The western part of the lake, known as the "Queue du Lac", is a wintering and nesting ground for water birds such as great crested grebes and coots
The Bosméléac dam and its artificial reservoir, 2km long and 150m wide, were built in 1832 and 1838 to supply water to the Nantes-Brest canal via the Hilvern channel. This precious heritage, a remarkable natural site, is ideal for fishing, walking, horse-riding and mountain biking.
Lac de Bosméléac is located in the communes of Allineuc, Merléac, Bodéo and Saint-Martin-des-Prés.
Water sports on the lake in summer.
