L'estuaire du Bizien

As popular with birds as it is with hikers in search of nature and a more secret Brittany, the Bizien estuary was once home to a small port for seaweed gatherers. Today, nestling at the head of the estuary is the authentic little town of Pouldouran, which has retained its charm and character. Between land and sea, freshwater and saltwater, the scenery changes with the tides and is home to a specific flora and fauna.

A number of hiking trails start from the Maison des talus et des routoirs à lin and take in the estuary and the Bizien valley, as well as the rich rural heritage of sunken lanes, talus walls and flax mills.
