Falaises de Trédrez

This beautiful stretch of rocky coastline is one of the largest wilderness areas in the Côtes d'Armor.

The natural site is around 4.5 km long, stretching from the Vorlenn lagoon in the north to the Toul-ar-Vilin beach in the south, near Saint-Michel-en-Grève. The ten-metre-high cliff is exposed and continuously eroding in many places. The more resistant peaks of Malabri, Beg an Evned and Beg ar Forn jut out and offer magnificent views over the Bay of Saint-Michel and the Finistère coastline.

The fairly steep slopes reveal vegetation with a predominantly marine influence, ranging from seagrass lawns to blackthorn shrub thickets.

Numerous springs, more or less permanent, create wetlands enriching the plant diversity.

At the foot of the cliffs, low tide reveals the foreshore and its spectacular geological formations, dominated by schistose formations of volcanic origin.

This remarkable area can be explored along the customs path, used since the Middle Ages by coast guards charged with repelling enemies.
