Falaises de Plouézec
One of Brittany's most beautifully preserved sites, in the Côtes d'Armor!
Set in breathtaking scenery between Paimpol and Plouha, the Route des Falaises invites you to stop and enjoy its treasures to the full.
- A magnificent refuge for animals and plants
The cliffs are home to mammals such as the Greater and Lesser Rhinolophus, two rare species of bat. The cliffs are also home to numerous birds, including the window swallow, reed bunting, maritime pipit, peregrine falcon, Balearic shearwater, common murre and many others.
- A unique geological panorama
Natural vegetation reigns supreme at the top and on the rocky escarpment walls, creating vast expanses of vegetation that give the cliffs a colorful, vibrant carpet. On the foreshore, you'll notice dried seaweed: maerl, kelp, sea lettuce, rockweed? Geology buffs can observe rocks (sedimentary, volcanic, magmatic and metamorphic), the result of geological phenomena dating back hundreds of millions of years.
