Chêne de Tonjoly

The Tronjoly oak is a true curiosity of nature. This exceptional and millenarian tree (we estimate its age at about 1500 years) is certainly the biggest oak in Europe with its 12 meters circumference!

It is still perennial even though its trunk has been hollowed out a long time ago. In 1750, a "talented preacher", Dom José Le Graët, set up his bed, table and bookcase there. Constantly irrigated by one of the sources of the Leguer, this ancestor is in surprisingly good health and it is always the same pleasure to admire its foliage once spring comes.

Circumference: 12.5 m - Wingspan: 15 m - Height: 22 m.
