Cap Fréhel

Overlooking the sea at over 70 metres, the majestic pink sandstone cliffs of Cap Fréhel are a veritable spectacle of nature. Listed since 1967, these cliffs, the highest in Brittany after those of Plouha, offer a breathtaking panorama, stretching as far as the island of Jersey on a clear day. This emblematic site, untouched by construction, is one of the most visited in Brittany, attracting nature lovers, photographers and the curious from all over the world.

Exceptional biodiversity

Cap Fréhel is much more than just a viewpoint: it's a natural sanctuary, home to a rich diversity of flora and fauna. From multicolored carpets of heather, gorse and thistle, to seabirds such as the Razorbill and the Common Murre nesting on the cliffs, every corner of the site is teeming with life. The surrounding moorland is also home to rare species such as the European Nightjar and Pitchou Warbler, adding to the ecological richness of the site.

Hiking enthusiasts will be delighted. From the emblematic Cap Fréhel lighthouse, follow the GR34 trail, also known as the "Sentier des Douaniers", which winds along the English Channel to Fort La Latte, a historic fortress overlooking the sea. The round trip (9 km - 2h30) offers spectacular views and unrivalled peace and quiet.

To preserve this natural jewel while welcoming a growing number of visitors, Cap Fréhel has benefited from a number of infrastructures: a bird-watching belvedere, a refurbished parking lot, access for people with reduced mobility and marked paths to protect the fragile moorland. These efforts guarantee an unforgettable experience that respects the environment.
