Bois de la Perche

Just a few minutes' walk from the center of Quintin's Petite Cité de Caractère, enjoy a haven of nature along the Gouët River. This partly private woodland is accessible via a path that leads to the Perche mill, a witness to the intense milling activity of the entire valley. You can sit on one of the granite boulders, the source of local legends (the witch's buns), and observe dragonflies and pretty butterflies. There's even a lizard curiously sculpted on a rock! The waters of the Gouët are teeming with fish: fario trout, gudgeon and tench abound. Approx. 45-minute loop. You'll find this site in the "Quintin au naturel" pocket nature trail, available free of charge from the Tourist Office.
