📍 Saint-Cast-le-Guildo
Baie de La Fresnaye
From Cap Fréhel to Saint-Cast-le Guildo, follow the GR34 customs trail and enjoy magnificent views and wintering birds from October to March. 6 km deep, it is guarded by an impressive belt of cliffs.
The bay takes its name from the frènes that once bordered it. The discovery of tree trunks and fossilized roots has led scientists to believe that the Bay of La Fresnaye was invaded by the sea, probably at the beginning of the 8th century.
A century later, the Normans landed here, followed in the 12th century by numerous pilgrims from England and the Nordic countries. They were welcomed by the Templars, who escorted them to holy places.
